THE TAJ PALACE

As an iconic symbol of Indian hospitality and refined luxury, the Taj Palace in New Delhi demands an aesthetic that seamlessly marries royal heritage with contemporary grandeur. Commissioned directly by the project’s architectural team, our stone studio was tasked with creating a signature collection of hand-carved sandstone planters designed to enrich both the expansive interior corridors and the lush exterior grounds of the hotel.
Hand-Sculpted Craftsmanship
In an era dominated by mass reproduction, these planters stand as a testament to the irreplaceable art of traditional stone carving.
- Chiseled by Hand: Each planter was individually sculpted from blocks of fine-grained natural sandstone by master artisans utilizing wooden mallets and hand chisels.
- Botanical & Relief Motifs: The urns feature deep-relief carvings of intertwined acanthus leaves, stylized floral cartouches, and classic gadrooned bases—echoing the majestic architectural motifs of imperial Delhi.

Elevating the Hospitality Environment
Positioned strategically throughout the hotel's marble-lined foyers, grand corridors, and outdoor verandas, these solid sandstone planters bring an organic warmth and tactile richness to the space. Accommodating lush tropical palms and greenery, they provide a sophisticated visual cadence that guides guests through the hotel's storied interiors.
